Meet Allison Laws:

Allison first became trained as a first aid instructor when she became a SCUBA instructor. She has been a diver for about 20 years, and in remote locations it is essential to have good first-aid and emergency response training. While living in NYC, she was a volunteer diver at the NY Aquarium, where she also co-taught the Diver Alert Network’s DFApro course to the staff. DFApro is an in-depth professional first-aid and emergency response course meant for institutions and individuals in the SCUBA and aquatic fields (OSHA and Coast Guard approved). It includes CPR, AED, O2 provision, marine sting treatment, neurological assessment and so forth. While on dry land, she taught fellow divers, gym staff and health- and child-care professionals in my community near NYC.

She enjoys helping to keep people safe. For her training courses, there is no requirement to be a diver or water sports person, only to want to be well prepared in case of emergency. DAN’s courses are comprehensive and high-quality and quite enjoyable.
